A former Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Segun Tomori, has commended the minister, Dele Alake, for spearheading reforms that he said had repositioned Nigeria’s mining sector and enhanced its attractiveness to local and foreign investors.
Tomori, in a birthday message to mark Alake’s 70th birthday, described the minister as a mentor and guiding light whose principles and values had shaped his career over the past three years.
He said Alake’s contributions to public service extended beyond his current role, describing him as a political and communications strategist whose career had been marked by intellectual depth and commitment to national development.
“As Minister of Solid Minerals Development, you have spearheaded far-reaching reforms that have not only repositioned the sector but have also made it increasingly attractive to investors, both locally and globally,” Tomori said.
He expressed gratitude for Alake’s mentorship, saying, “To me, you have been much more than a boss. You have been a mentor, and a guiding light, whose principles and values have remained a lodestar, over the past three years.”
Tomori, who is also a House of Representatives aspirant for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, prayed for Alake’s continued good health, strength, wisdom and fulfilment as he continues to contribute to the country’s development.
He wished the minister many more years and described his 70th birthday as a significant milestone.
