The Reset Nigeria Movement, a political group backing the presidential ambition of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has urged Nigerians to unite and chart a new direction for the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group said the country needs a leadership reset capable of restoring public confidence, strengthening institutions and improving the living conditions of citizens.
In a statement issued yesterday in Abuja, the National Coordinator of Reset Agents, Osi Iwenekhai, said the movement was an ideological drive aimed at changing the narrative of governance and development in Nigeria.
Iwenekhai said the movement was not about returning Nigeria to the past but about “restoring confidence in the future” by building a country where leadership is accountable, institutions are strong, security is guaranteed and citizens can live with dignity.
He said the need for a reset was evident in the daily struggles of Nigerians, including the rising cost of living, pressure on businesses, limited opportunities for young people, insecurity and declining confidence in public institutions.
“Nigerians have yet to experience the progress they expected in their daily lives under the current administration,” he said.
According to him, the Reset Nigeria agenda is anchored on economic growth, job creation, education, healthcare, infrastructure development, power sector reforms, security and institutional strengthening.
He said the movement believed that leadership remained the decisive factor in translating national aspirations into measurable results.
Iwenekhai said Makinde possessed the “experience, competence, character and proven record of governance” required to lead the country, citing his administration’s record in strengthening institutions, managing public resources and delivering what he described as measurable results.
He urged Nigerians to join the movement in “reclaiming the future,” stressing that Reset Nigeria was bigger than any individual or political party.
“It is a national movement driven by the shared desire of Nigerians for a better, more prosperous and more secure future,” he said.
